The only real failure in life is not to be true to the best one knows
In times of distress, religion brings hope, and sometimes even meaning to your problems.
These are all quotes by Buddha and can be applied to almost any hardship -
All that we are is the result of what we have thought. If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, pain follows him. If a man speaks or acts with a pure thought, happiness follows him, like a shadow that never leaves him.
Ambition is like love, impatient both of delays and rivals.
Wish Buddha would have told this to me three months ago.
In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.
a favorite of mine.
Work out your own salvation. Do not depend on others.

I’ve seen this one a couple of times before:
“In a controversy the instant we feel anger we have already ceased striving for the truth, and have begun striving for ourselves.” And I just couldn’t agree more.
As for religion, I agree. Anytime I’m feeling hopeless, I turn to Allah for consolation and strength to go on. It just makes me feel better I think to know that I can depend on Him. :-)
At least Buddha told you this 3 months later rather than 3 years later.
“Sometimes the biggest frustrations come from trying to control others, their behavior, and situations. Stop controlling others and control yourself. Accept them as they are and expect them to accept you as you are.”
I think I will try to recommend this post to my friends and family, cuz it’s really helpful.
